Chef Valentin Sandoval
Chef Valentino Sandoval, a native of Puebla, Mexico, began his culinary venture in Philadelphia, PA at the beginning of 1996. While there, he worked his way into the kitchens of Italian chef Marc Vetri, and Michelin-rated chef Walter Abrams—formerly of Napa Valley hotspot The French Laundry.
“Growing up in Mexico, I learned how to put food together,” Sandoval says. “But here in America, chefs are more like artists. I’ve learned how to be creative and put little touches here and there. I want to do something different and fuse all of the techniques that I’ve learned—from French and American to Italian and seafood—into classic Mexican cuisine.”
In 2015, Sandoval relocated to Baltimore and took a gig as chef de cuisine at Corner Charcuterie Bar in Hampden. Known for his sharp culinary skills and witty personality, Hampden embraced his talents with love and respect. 2018 turned into a life long dream for Chef Sandoval, as he and his three brothers ventured into opening their first restaurant, La Calle, here in downtown Baltimore City.
With 25 years of culinary dreams behind him, Chef Sandoval now steps into the future holding the keys to his first, self-owned restaurant, BMORE TAQUERIA! Located in Upper Fells Point, Baltimore at 1733 Eastern Ave. "We are set to open October 20, 2021 and I feel nothing but gratitude" he says!
